Academic Training Overview

We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

Academic Programs

Job Corps provides a very structured environment that will prepare you for the workplace.

HiSET/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at Grafton Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her HiSET or high school diploma prior to leaving the center.

Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Grafton are enrolled into our HiSET program. Our HiSET program integrates the latest in learning, teaching, and testing technology, and each student receives one-on-one attention by highly qualified and motivated academic instructors.

Students may be eligible to earn their high school diploma by completing course requirements at Grafton. A new student's eligibility will be determined during the first few months of enrollment and depends greatly on his/her former high school career and the school(s) attended.

English Language Learning Program

Students needing to learn English can enter our English Language Learning (ELL) program. Students in the ELL program are tested regularly to determine their language proficiency levels.

Tutoring and Academic Support

Tutoring programs are available where students are tutored in math, reading, science, social studies, and writing by instructors or by fellow students (Peer Student Tutors). Students interested in getting into a tutoring program may contact their instructors or the Academic Manager.

Driver Education

Driver's Education is available to all students needing their Massachusetts driver's License. Students are trained by a Massachusetts State Certified Driving Instructor.

Military Careers Preparation Program (MILCAP)

MILCAP is an elective program for our students designed specifically to prepare them for careers in the military. Through a formal agreement between our center and the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, recruiters visit campus and work closely with current and prospective MILCAP trainees.

All Grafton Job Corps students are welcome to participate in MILCAP. There are many military careers available for plumbers, carpenters, cooks, administrative assistants, certified nursing assistants, guards, and electricians.
